With the same entrepreneurial spirit that drives so many of her Clients, Founder and Owner Christy Carter has successfully established iScout as the go-to firm in Chicago ’s tech-recruiting market.

Ms.Carter’s industry roots run deep. As a field engineer for a small consulting firm, she began her career building PCs and supporting hardware, software & networking issues for small and mid-sized companies. She advanced quickly and was promoted to Resource Manager where she began recruiting for Technical Support Technicians, DBAs, Network Administrators, and Developers. After moving to a local IBM VAR, she got her first taste of volume recruiting and began developing her innate interest in technology. There, she hired primarily for tech positions and successfully supported 11 offices across the U.S. Over the years, she continued to build her expertise, always with the goal of starting her own company in the back of her mind.

In 1999, Ms.Carter decided to venture out on her own. Fueled by her past successes in volume recruiting, she began recruiting for startup dotcoms. She soon realized that she thrived in these situations – the unique challenges, the tight timeframes and, of course, the satisfaction of helping to build new companies from the ground up.

In 2001, iScout was officially incorporated. Today, Ms.Carter’s vision endures and iScout enjoys a diverse Client list and a solid reputation in the industry.
