Ever wonder why your competitors are able to retain top talent, while you struggle to make good hires? It comes down to the interview and assessment. The key to successful recruiting lies in an interviewer’s ability to ask the right questions – and to distinguish between mere competence and true potential. Effective interviewing is a skill, and if you want to build a strong, innovative team, you have to learn how to do it right.
The fourth phase of our process is Training. We’ll conduct group sessions to teach your interview team and hiring managers the fundamentals of effective interviewing, and we’ll train you how to accurately assess talent – during and after the interview. We’ll teach you how to put Candidates at ease, giving them the opportunity to really open up to you. We’ll teach you how to listen more, and talk less. And we’ll show you the different techniques to use when interviewing active Candidates vs. passive Candidates.
It’s important to remember that interviewing is a fact-finding mission, not a social exchange. You need to make sure your Candidates feel comfortable with you, but you also need to establish and maintain total control over the flow of the interview. Ultimately, this will make the interview process a more valuable one, and you’ll make better hires.
